Minette Smith (Position1, expires 12/31/2029)

 Lola the cat enjoys sleeping, playing, eating bugs and shredding Minette's couch. Minette enjoys reading and writing poetry, history and humor. As much as Minette wishes to be a professional hermit, they carry a passion for public service and community building. "Libraries have been a tremendous resource and comfort throughout my life."

Carillon Nicol (Position 2, expires 12/31/2026) 

James Sorensen (Position #3, expires 12/31/2028)

James Sorensen moved to Cathlamet in 2020 and is an active community member. He is a Main Street business owner and works in the same building as his wife. He also serves on several local boards and is passionate about literacy and ensuring rural communities like ours have access to strong public resources. When he’s not working or volunteering, he enjoys reading, staying active, and spending time with his growing family, which currently includes his wife and a daughter arriving in February 2026.

Paul Kwitek(Position 4, expires 12/31/2029)

Retired from Intel Corportation as a Quality Control Engineering Technician for 30 years. Paul enjoys playing and creating music and doing handyman work.

"My goal is to support the Cathlamet Library to the best of my ability. I believe libraries provide very critical value for the community by promoting a culture of reading and learning. Libraries bring all people together for access to knowledge." 

Dan Turner (Position 5, expires 12/31/2027)

Dan is a U.S. Navy veteran of 21 years. Additionally, a retired 3rd grade Teacher.

Dan wants our library to be that special public place, which promotes reading & education for all.

A place every Wahkiakum County resident can enjoy freely and reflect on with pride.
