Summer reading challenges were fun!

All Together Now Beanstack challenges ran, June 14 - July 31st! Children ages 5-15  attended summer reading program activities at Erickson Park (580 Columbia Street) Wednesdays, June 28th-August 2nd from 1-2pm. Ages 5 and up could log their minutes reading online throughout the challenge to earn a new set of colorful badges and prizes. They read or listenened for 240 minutes (4 hours) over a month and and a half to win prizes, including toys, books, and more. We read together about friendship, kindness and any other subject of their choice! Adults and older teens could also participate in their version of the online reading challenge and earn tickets towards a drawing for fun prizes. The drawing has occurred-congratulations to the winners!

     6/28 – “Friends Forever” / Program and Beanstack challenge intro

  • Friendship snack mix, friendship bracelets / key chains

     7/05 –“Kindness for Everyone” –  

  • Make kindness rocks and bookmarks

     7/12 – “Expand Your World” – Help make a giant wall of donut art!

  • Donut art, celery prints

    7/19 – “Working and Playing Together”

  • Cooperative games and tying pet blankets for WAAG

     7/26 – “Community Connections” – Community Gardens Speaker

  •   Decorate a pot / Plant a gift, animal friendship pairs hunt

     8/02 - (1-2:30pm)  - “Awards and Participation Party”

  • Snacks, prizes, awards and certificates
